A trend I am LOVING this season is the beach and street chic floppy hat!  In today’s edition of SPLURGE vs. STEAL, we’re comparing two very similar classic black floppy hats at two totally different price tags!

My Miami Beach Bag Essentials

I absolutely LOVE traveling and try to go on vaca at least 2-3 times a year. So with that said, I just returned from my mini getaway to Miami Beach. Getting away from reality really helps me keep my sanity. But, in order to enjoy my vaca it’s important to pack all the right things. Take a peek inside my beach bag:

Cell phone: I can’t live w/o my phone- it goes everywhere with me. It allows me to stay connected to the outside world. Plus I would go crazy w/o FB

Hat: The Ribbon White Hat by San Diego Hat Co is AWESOME for traveling. It’s light, crushable, and easy to pack. It also provides 50+ SPF protection.

Sunglasses: I have a handful of sunglasses. But, one of my favs is my Carrera’s. They are super light and the case is thin so they don’t take up a lot of room. They also go well with most of my outfits.

Camera: Love taking pics and capturing every moment of my trip.

Lip Balm: I have been using this lip balm for years and can’t get enough of it. It comes in diff creamy fruit flavors which protect and hydrate your lips.  

Cover-up: I personally love wearing tunics or dresses to the beach. They’re easy to throw on and take off and complete your beach look. I prefer cover-ups w/o embroidery because embroidered pieces tend to be heavy. I like cover-ups that are soft, thin, and loose-fitting. Take a look at Cobalt Asymmetrical by Vitamin A.

Bikini: Miami is def the place where you can show more skin. That’s why I had to wear Artisan Starlet by Vitamin A. This swimsuit is perfect for Miami because it’s colorful, fun and sexy. The bottom is Brazilian and has a sexy cinch back detail which makes your booty look fabulous.

Sunscreen: Miami sun is no joke! Last time I went there I got burned my first day. So, now I don’t mess around and always make sure to use sunscreen. I usually stick to SPF 30.  Protecting yourself from the sun is a must!

iPod: Sometimes it’s hard to tune out the noise around me so listening to my iPod def helps me do that. I have all kinds of music- techno, Latin, hip-hop, R&B, etc.

Flip Flops: I live in Havaianas! I have them in diff colors. I personally like the Slim style because they are sleek and super comfy.

Wedge: You never know where you’ll end up in Miami. So, you have to be prepared for anything. That’s why I have a pair of nude Steve Madden wedges. You can always end up at a pool party after the beach!
