That German swim designer has done it again! Last year around this time, Maryan Mehlhorn Swimwear won the coveted “Designer of the Year” award at the Swimwear and Lingerie Exhibit in Paris. But this year, the world-renowned German designer won “Swimwear Brand of the Year 2011” at the UK Lingerie Awards!

Every year, the Surf Industry Manufacturing Association (SIMA for short) hosts their awards ceremony, and for the first year ever, the SIMA Image Awards were held locally in sunny Orange County, California. And for the 4th time in a row, the world-renowned designer brand won the award for Women’s Swim Brand of the Year—the first ever 4-time consecutive win in all of SIMA history!
At this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in NYC, Starwood’s design-driven W Hotel chain, took fashion to the centerstage. The luxury hotel chain threw its first-ever fashion show for its new and exclusive label called “Global Glam.” Global Glam will be featured in three of the new W resort hotels in London, Vieques, Puerto Rico, and St. Petersburg, Russia. One designer that was featured in the W Hotel Global Glam collection was Melissa Odabash.

German swimwear designer Maryan Mehlhorn was awarded on September 4, 2010 the Designer of the Year prize. This prestigious honor was presented to Mehlhorn by CEO Marie-Laure Bellon-Homps at the swimwear and lingerie exhibit in Mode City in Paris. More than 70 journalists from all over the world were there to record and recount this amazing day for an extraordinary designer.
