Season 4 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta is in full swing and on last night’s episode (episode 2), the ladies headed to Miami!  NeNe Leakes rounded up two of her fellow castmates (Cynthia Bailey and Kandi Burruss) for a girls-only South Beach getaway.  So you know what that means—sun, sand and of course, sizzling swimsuits!

Once they landed in Miami, the housewives of Atlanta got ready to show off their figures in some gorgeous new swimsuits!  Cynthia wore a black bikini with gold stud details, while Kandi chose a purple monokini with plunging neckline and flirty ruffle detail.

Although all of the ladies look flawless in their swimsuits, our favorite look goes to NeNe.  She looked cool and confident in a nude-colored one-piece with deep plunging neckline and adorable boyshort bottoms.  Not only did the color look amazing with her complexion, but the one-piece flattered NeNe and her curves perfectly!

"African Denim" by Maryan Mehlhorn 2012

That German swim designer has done it again!  Last year around this time, Maryan Mehlhorn Swimwear won the coveted “Designer of the Year” award at the Swimwear and Lingerie Exhibit in Paris.  But this year, the world-renowned German designer won “Swimwear Brand of the Year 2011” at the UK Lingerie Awards!

The first-ever Awards ceremony, presented by Lingerie Insight magazine, took place on September 7th in London’s Mayfair district.  The glamorous dinner gala was hosted by Millie Clode and Lingerie Insight editor, Kat Slowe.  More than 250 lingerie and swim

 professionals were in attendance, including Maryan Mehlhorn and her brilliant team, making the first-ever UK Lingerie Awards a huge success!  Due to her amazing swim and cover-up styles, as well as her continuously innovative designs, Maryan Mehlhorn Swimwear took home the award for “Swimwear Brand of the Year” for 2011.  We’re so proud to be one of the few retailers in the US to carry her always-impressive swim and beachwear line!

SPOTTED: Taylor Swift in the French Dot One-Piece by Vitamin A!

While taking a mini-vacay from her successful “Speak Now” tour, country music’s pop princess Taylor Swift and her tour mates stopped off in Charleston, South Carolina for 3 fun-filled days in the sun!  Swift, a self-proclaimed “list maker”, said Charleston is a place she always wanted to visit so she made it happen!

 Taylor documented her trip with a vintage-inspired slideshow of black and white photos and posted them to her blog!  While Taylor is no-stranger to the 50’s glam look, she kept the vintage vibe going when she graced the sands wearing the stylish Vitamin A French Dot Bel Air Retro Maillot!   This strapless retro-inspired one-piece features an adorable black and white mini polka dot print with flattering ruching detail along the torso!  The starlet finished off her look with a polka dot head scarf and over-sized shades.  We’ve noticed that Taylor seems to be the polka dot print’s #1 fan!  Last summer we spotted her in another retro-inspired teeny weenie polka dot bikini, but who’s counting!  Polka dots prints are timeless and nobody can pull them off quite like Ms. Swift!

When you first hear “one-piece,” many people automatically think of their granny’s old unflattering swimsuit.  However, these people probably have never tried monokini swimsuits!  Monokinis are considered one-pieces, however they have sexy side cut-out sections, making them look like two-pieces from behind.  In our opinion, monokinis are great style solutions for women with all different body types.  This week’s Pick of the Week is on how to master the monokini by choosing a style that suits your needs.

Despite the side cut-outs, many monokini swimsuits resemble traditional one-pieces in that they provide great front tummy coverage.  These styles are perfect for women who crave the sexiness associated with bikinis, but who still prefer that substantial front coverage.  In addition, monokini swimsuits with good front coverage are perfect for hiding that tummy pooch that’s so hard for us ladies to get rid of.

On the other hand, a number of monokinis are even sexier (and almost as skimpy) as bikinis!  These styles of monokini swimsuits usually feature a thinner strip of fabric in the front (sometimes none at all), thus exposing more of your tummy area.  These monokinis are especially great for women with very straight and non-curvy figures; the exaggerated side cutouts help create the illusion of curves!
